VW Golf (MK 4) Remote Locking not working?

Couple of months ago, car was in for some repairs etc and when i picked the car up the remote locking had on my keys had stopped working? So now i have to lock the car manually (the alarm is still set when locking manurally)

I think they may have unhooked the battery whilst doing the work but i am unsure?

Someone had suggested the keys need to be re-configured or something?

Can anyone help?

I'm pretty sure you'll need someone with VAGcom to reprogram it for you.
