W3260 Rinse light flashes with any program I select .help

My washing machine has finally given up and I am hoping for some trusty forum friend to help.
My Miele washing machine, model W3260 , now six years old has had an intermittent fault for the past six months. I use a standard wash most days, the main wash light goes on and the drum begins to fill, then it automatically drains the water and then rinse light flashes repeatly. I have resolved the problem previously by removing all clothes from the drum, opening the filter and draining the water manually. This has been done a number of times of late and has kept the machine going, until the weekend, when it gave up totally.
No matter what program I select the rinse light flashes within seconds and remains on.
We have opened up the machine and checked the brushes, they looked ok, however
we have ordered New set.
If any readers have experienced the same or know what I should do next I would appreciate a reply. house of 5, washing piling up

Have you checked for blockages in the coin trap/filter and also the drain hose.
If the drain hose is kinked or blocked or even placed to high above machine this could be reasonable.

Where I had long brushes but the rinse light flashed.

I had corrosion on one of the spade terminals connecting the brush to the brush holder.

Test that you have continuity between the plug spades at the front of the brush holder to each brush.
From memory it might be the third and fourth spade from the left connect to the brushes.
