Hi all

I am boarding my garage up with 12.5mm plasterbaord, but rather then dot&dab, i have decided to stud the wall with 69x38mm battons, and put some insulation in

Can I squeeze 50/65/75 or 100mm cavity wall insulation in that or should I go 30mm kingspan/celotex?
Thanks

The question is so ambiguous it is off-white.

It is like saying, i'm eating tomato soup tonight do i need to add more salt!

A garage is a garage and requires no insulation or plaster at all.

However, you can squeeze insulation into a tighter space than the thickness suggests but be prepared to either add a lot of screws or be prepared for the odd head pop.

It's not particularly difficult to compress fibre-wool by 50% however it risks getting wet being in direct contact with the garage wall and that destroys its insulating properties.

The cost will likely be only 25% or 35% of the Kingspan.

I ended up using kingspan/celotex.
