Wall light: plug-in to hard-wired

Another query, sorry...
I've just bought this light from B&Q:

and thought as it said 'wall light' that it would simply replace a quite revolting wall light that is curretly in place in my son's room. However, this new light is plug-in and the current one is hard-wired with its own switch. Is it possible to wire this new one into the existing hard-wired system?
