Yes it is possible...but you should give it a coat of special plasterboard sealer first..otherwise when it comes to stripping it youl rip the plasterboard to shreds.
The seler is expensive though...about 30 quid a tub..id be more inclined to give it a few coats of thinned vinyl matt emulsion.
