Washer Dryer (Hotpoint Aquarius 1000) problems

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius 1000 washer dryer. Last night, I dyed a pair of curtains and today I put on a regular (actually very light) load. The washer seemed to struggle through the programme - the dial was clicking a lot and was pretty noisy. Once the wash cycle finished, the dryer won;t go on at all.

I wonder whether anyone could suggest what is wrong with it? I assume I have caused a problem when I dyed the curtains but have absolutely no idea what could be the trouble.

Model number wd62 ? Check the knob on the dryer is not broken also motor brushes. Poss worn .

How would i check that the knob isn't broken?

I thought u had a 62 model it's not broken but check brushes first.
