Hi,
My 4 year old Hotpoint was spinning noisy and gave a F02 error...motor fault.
The drum bearing was leaking oil.
Is it worth replacing the bearings or has the damaged bearing likely cause motor damage also giving the f02 error and I am.better just replacing the machine. I would complete the repair myself.

Only older machines/drums, had cheaply replaceable bearings. Later ones involved replacing drum, complete, the cost of which is around £120 - £150 for parts. The drum is unlikely to have damaged the motor.

I think I'll just replace then cost of drum isn't far off a new machine...throw away society...thanks

It can be done according to YouTube. However, the massive ball-ache in doing so AND if you can actually get replacement bearings / bearing kit, then it seems just not worth it.

You don't know the Hotpoint model, so that makes that decision impossible!

What about that thing where it should reasonably last 6 years? New to scrap in 4 years is criminal.
