washing machine belt keeps slipping when turned

Hi last week the belt on our washer slipped off, i have bought a new one in case it is useless although it looks fine.
trying to put the old on back on today wasn't too bad but then when i turn the drum to see if its ok, it slips off.
Haven't got a clue what do do next!

Oh and just before it broke, it was REALLY loud on spin and clothes came out with brown marks on them.
Dont know if it is related!

You don't mention the make or model...not that it makes a great deal of difference because your bearings a shot & that's why the belt keeps coming off. Unless it was a very expensive machine scrap it & buy a new one.

yes sorry its a haier HW-C1270TVEME-U. and by googling recently realised it isnt a very good brand at all. Was wondering if it was the bearings as it is so noisy. stupid machine!!!

Haier is Chinese junk
Scrap it & buy a real washing machine.
