Waste stuck in sink hole

Hi all -

I'm trying to remove an old waste from a sink but after removing the nut and washer underneath (which was stuck down with loads of silicon) it's clear the whole thing is still really stuck down. Seems to be silicon under the lip on the upward facing side, then some in the actual hole itself. I've tried just smacking it with a hammer to loosen it from underneath but it ain't budging and I'm afraid of cracking the sink. Does anyone know of any top secret tips here to help me get it loosened? My first thought was some silicon remover fluid but there really isn't much silicon exposed.

View from underneath attached

Thanks!

Try scoring the silicone with a Stanley type knife?

Silicone glued in there. Take a stanley knife and cut a ring right round the waste as deep as you can into the basin waste hole then a pair of pump pliers and twist.

Thanks so much everyone - in the end the only thing that worked was ridiculous amount of patience and one of those narrow utility blades... thanks for input
