I need to replace a 3m length of waste water pipe (it takes water from the shower) but the outside diameter of my outdoors pipe seems to be 37mm.

Yet I can't find 37mm online ....... is that not made any more?

Check any fittings, (bends etc) Manufacturers name and pipe size are often moulded with the fitting. If you can take a picture, we may even be able to ID it for you!

Thanks all, yes it's plastic.

Seems like the closest is 36mm. It's not glued anywhere, just a push fit.

It's about 25 years old.

Can't seem to find a 3m length of that anywhere.

I suppose I could make an adapter, therefore remove the existing 36mm pipe, get a 3m length of 40mm pipe, cut off two short, good pieces from the 36mm pipe and insert them into each end of the 40mm pipe (firstly cutting that to length), and use silicone sealant to 'glue' the 36mm/40mm pieces together.

Please do not use Aquaflow pipe from TS - for some mental reason they are not interchangeable with the other standard pipe sizes or at least their ABS Solvent Weld isn't, never having used push fit though then I guess I couldn't comment about their push fit.

I've never experienced that problem with brands across the board. Occasionally the odd fitting might feel a tad tight but a swift encounter with the emery cloth and all is usually well. Pre the industry standards, then yes some were not easily interchangeable, but since the metrification of the plumbing industry, interchangeability is not normally a problem, or at least not from my observations.

Solvent Weld waste, (along with 110mm soil/underground), has always been standard across the Manufacturers, Push fit Waste and Guttering not so for some obscure reason. Heard several People say about the TS Solvent Weld waste now, possibly TS trying to get their Customers to stick with their brand?

Every other brand of SW seems to be interchangeable - not Aquaflow - the fittings/pipe are either too loose or too tight depending on what way about. Tried it a few times and given up now.
