Hi all,

I have recently painted 4 doors and frames, which were previously painted with gloss and oil-based satinwood, with water-based satinwood. I didn't realize it was water-based at the time, but now i do! Although i cleaned and sanded where possible, the paint is easily scratched off. What is the best was to overcome this? I was thinking paint stripper, but the doors are the pressed hardboard type and i'm not sure if it would damage them.

many thanks

Water-based (especially over oil-based) is bads news ..Sand the begger off , if it wont sand easily try a heat gun but dont linger with it or you'll strip the underlying coats too ! ;)
