Water/in pump on Candy 1012/1-80 rattles, how to test it ??

The water in pump on a Candy CDI 1012/1-80 rattles when it pump water in. It bounces about and not much water gets into the dishwasher. The arms dont spin due to lack of water coming in.

How do i test the pump?
