We have a newly (extensively) extended bungalow with dormer type windows upstairs. They are 3 yrs old and the entire roof was replaced.
The windows are aluminium double glazing and we have water coming in and staining the ceiling of the room below.
the walls are rendered and there is no sealant between the frames and the tender. Is this the problem? I’ve read about cill ends not being sealed or culls not sealed to the windows, but don’t have a clue what this means.
The previous owners claimed issue was down to no seep holes and have literally drilled holes through the frame to allow any water to drain away.
The builder who did the extension is ignoring calls and texts, although it’s only 3yrs ago and clearly an ongoing issue that the couple must have known about too when they sold the house.
Any ideas? I’m thinking of sealing round the frames anyway, but any advice greatly appreciated here!
