I suggest you check on the JG website for more details on those fittings.

To me 1/2" means exactly that and your existing pipe may be called 1/2" but have a larger outside diameter.

Buying that kind of think from mail order with a £6 delivery can get expensive if its not exactly right.

All current plastic tube needs inserts. But I have never seen them actually fitted to any of the black alkathene pipe.

Alkathene has the same OD as 3/4 copper tube...use 15mm copper tube for insert along with 22mm comp fitting using a 3/4" olive.
