Water pipe adapter won't fit back to pipe

We're installing a washer machine and the washer machine's water-supply rubber pipe only fits onto the copper water pipe with this connector attached. But...

Took the water-pipe connector off the water-supply copper pipe on the wall (furthest left on first pic) and it will not fit back on as the copper pipe is too long.

Looking inside the pipe, looks like it won't fit any deeper than it did before.

The end part of the connector won't slide down or off the pipe.

Why don't you sling that contraption and by a proper washing machine outlet. Only take 2mins to install

just swap the 15mm service valve for this wm valve,hope the left side pipe is the cold
Make sure water is off first !

As above you have a inline isolator so really is a 2 min job

You would normally remove the 15mm isolator and replace with the WM valve. Still a quick job.

For a novice like op be easier to just add imho not the best way but it will work
