Hi all, just recently our water was turned off due to a leak in a nearby road and since it's been back on the pressure seems way to high compared to before, now every time I turn off a cold tap my shower spurts out water!!!!have turned down water slightly on indoor stopcock and run shower thinking an airlock may be present but again this morning downstairs tap turned off and the shower spurted water again, any info or suggestions would be much appreciated.

You are very lucky!

Most people struggle to get enough.

If it is really a big problem for you then its possible to buy a pressure reducing valve.

Closing the stopcock will not reduce the pressure except when taking high flows and generally is not a good idea.

Some taps may have isolating valves and you may find it useful to partially close these.

Not solved this problem yet but now got another problem, when I run the cold water for a bath, water starts leaking from the electric shower, its a Mira advance atl and had the front cover off a found that the water is coming from the air bleed button on top of the flow valve, don't know if this could be related to the shower spurting water every time I turn a cold tap on and off, sorry can't load a picture as doing this from my phone and can't seem to upload picture and have tried a few times with no luck.....
