Hi

We have an Aqualisa Aquavalve 700 shower valve installed.

Is it fed with a balanced water supply from an unvented cylinder at 3 Bar.

There is 22mm pipe work running right up to the valve, both the hot and cold water feeds.

The output from the valve is also in 22mm running to a fixed shower head.

Is there any downside in using the 22mm pipework ?

It will take longer for the temperature to initially stabilise, because there's more cold water in the pipework to expel before the hot water reaches the valve.

Depending on the distance from cylinder to shower, this could range from unimportant to mildly irritating, and is slightly wasteful, given that 15mm is fine for high pressure supplies.

Hi Sofus

Cheers for your reply.

We have a secondary return system in the house so the hot water will get to the valve quickly.

Do you see any problem with a 40mm waste handling the amount of water ?

Hi Softus

Yes the secondary return is fully lagged with climaflex foam insulation and then it in turn is covered with mineral wool.

Cheers for the feedback.
