we have heating but no hot water

we have had a leak over the weekend on our boiler which has been fixed. reset the boiler and set up the heating again. which seems to be working fine. strange thing is we seem to have lost hot water in the taps. it becomes hot for a short period but no where near as long as it should.

anyone have any ideas??

Are the thermostats set to max on boiler front?

we were advised by the landlord once it had the leak to leave it at 1 and keep a constant heat going through the pipes. we changed it higher this morning so i'll be able to check if thats the problem when i get home later. is that a general problem?? i haven't had to deal with boilers myself yet.
