Westclox alarm clock

I have just resurrected an oldish Westclox "Big Ben repeater" clockwork alarm clock. It's running a bit slow, though. Is there a tweak for clocks like this to adjust their running speed? there *appears* to be an adjustment on the back shell with + and - markings, but it is blanked.
It loses about 10 minutes every day.
