Good Morning all,

Been looking around the forum for the last few hours and have not found the answer yet, so I thought I would ask.

My Hotpoint WF540 stoped working last night. Basically if you turn it on at the plug the lights come on once for about half a second then the machine goes dead. The only life you can get from it is by repeating the process, and getting the same flash of the lights. It is not giving any error codes.

I also noted that if I just turned the power off and on nothing happened. It was only after the machine has been off for 10 seconds that it will even show a sign of life.

Im about to get someone to come in and look at it, but wanted to check there was not a quick fix.

Thanks

Paul

In case it helps anyone in the future. I took the entire machine to bits and in the end after testing all parts separately it turned out to be a broken micro switch on the PCB board. Instead of clicking it was silent. On inspection the metal leg had bent and created a permanent connection between the points causing it to not accept any command. I just separated them and it sprung back to life.

Thanks

Paul
