What can I replace this with?

This is my go-to for any jobs where I might need to drill/screw. It has all the common bits and I replace them when required. I have lots of other bits that are just stashed in a tote and I only go there if the size isn’t in this case.

This case has given up. How can I replace this setup?

Thanks in advance.

Shadow foam and case.

If your minted ha, and want something good, DeWalt draws are good plus you can add some shadow foam inserts

Shadow foam and case.
Feels like a lot of work to cut out sections for all this stuff.

Could I use a decent case which has a compartment for each bit type e.g. wood bits, metal bits, etc. it will just mean that I’d have to look through that compartment for the bit I am after.

I wanted to avoid chucking all of it into a single case. That would be a right mess.

If you agree, what case do you recommend that’s durable and has appropriately sized compartments?

Tried the DW Tough Cases - they work with T-Stak boxes, but not with the Tough Cases I use for tools. Have swapped to Bosch Pro Toughboxes for jigsaw blades and several Bosch Pick and Click boxes for my drill bits, screwdriver bits, Vix bits, plug cutters, etc organised into sets. I found the plastic clips on the DWs were a bit brittle and broke too easily. Maybe I'm a bit hard on my kit

DeWalt draws have adjustable compartments as is. Jobs a good un..

Like I said. If you feel you would like to convert one drawer with shadow foam later then you can...

I have several 6-bottle wooden wine boxes. The shallow large wooden box already had hinges, a clasp and a handle, it just needed some wooden dividers fixing in,

The deeper wooden boxes (2 layers of 3 bottles) were nailed on lids, but the addition of hinges and clasps made an excellent storage box, that lent itself to a couple of layers of shallow storage lift-out trays.
If you want to keep stuff in its place you'll still need the foam.
Then there's the typical anglers' storage boxes.

Your hinge has gone the same as the box for my drill. A couple more overlapping strips of Gorilla tape have sucessflly kept it secure for a couple of years now.

Or/and save a search on eBay - you might find a new old stock or used with some bits still in it.

Went with this in the end. A slight compromise but does the job and plenty of space for expansion.
