What fixing for plasterboard ceiling?

Hi,

I'm looking at fitting a heavy pendant light, about 5-8kg...the fixing bar is long but doesnt span the 2 joists, so i'd fix into 1 joist but the other fixing would go into plaster.

What would be the best type of fixing to use for this?

Do you have any access at all above the plasterboard ceiling?
