At the moment to access the keypad I click on the short cut for the programme on my desk top once the Jar file has run I then open a new page with the explorer and type in http://localhost and then I am on.
I don't know enough about it to be able to create a short cut that would do the whole thing in one go, i.e click on the link and the keypad appears.
The other thing that I would like to do is to be able to access this from other computers that are not running the programme, I know there is a way of doing it by using my machine at home as a web server but I haven't got a clue!

You can run the webserver all the time on your Windows computer.

Create a batch file to launch the webserver with the command options you want to set. You can do this at the DOS command by entering:

echo java -jar c:\VirtualKeypad.jar -auth=myusername:mypassword > VKP.bat

You can then test the newly created batch file by running it - just enter the filename in the DOS command.

To automatically run the batch file, install a free program like NSSM to run the VKP.bat batch file as a service:

To gain access to the web server on the PC from outside your local network, you need to configure your router to forward the webserver port 80 to your PC's IP address. You'll need to google how to do that for your router.

Hi I know this is an OLD thread but since you have already done I thought I would ask.

Is this module easier to install? Is it a case of plugging in power? I'm not a pro on the alarm but have the G2-12.

I've been told it needs to be on the correct firmware version.

You need to connect to power and the A/B data bus. After that, you need to 'esc' from engineering mode for the panel to pick up the module. Panel menu then programmed for IP address and your routers IP address.

Firmware needs to be 1.40 or above on the G2.

thank you very much! How do you check the firmware version? If it is out of date is it something that can be flashed fairly easily?
