What is the cotton wool looking thing in loft?

Hi all

In the loft which was converted into a room, it's not totally fully converted it's kind of half and half, it has this yellow cotton wool like material in certain areas near the roof. Any idea what it could be as worried about asbestos?

This stuff:

Not necessarily that brand. It is very finely spun fibres of glass; not dangerous but will likely make you itch if you pick it up and move it around. Best also to wear long sleeves, pants, gloves, a mask etc if disturbing it and don't wipe your sweaty forehead with the back of your gloved hands etc. Washing in cold water after handling it helps but mostly you just have to wait til it stops itching. Some modern variants are impregnated with a substance that reduces the amount of fibres it sheds but older stuff probably isn't
