Ah... so you think that's the secret do you? The guy pre-arranged for EV chargers to be installed (and connected to a suitable supply) prior to undertaking this pioneering trip?

Installed no, compatible, and available at the right time - yes, obvious innit? Possibilities to recharge in Aus, are very limited without careful planning, only a numpty, would interpret that news item at face value, without any questioning.
Could you even do that in the UK, around the UK's coast, without considerable pre-organisation? I think not, despite the much sorted distance, despite the frequency of recharge possibilities!
I did a similar, UK run, back in the 70's, in an ICE - no pre-organisation needed, plenty of places to quickly refuel, without diverting, no waiting, no delays.

As it is, you're not even in the game! You're the fat, clueless slob on his sofa, in his pants, with his can of Special Brew, yelling at the Premier League footballer on his telly and telling him how it should be done! Tell me... What kind of a "numpty" would speak with such conviction, from a position of so little knowledge or experience? I've got a meeting in London next Monday. I'm driving there from the North West corner of Cumbria, in the EV! I'm going to charge it fully on Sunday and then I'm just going to get in it and drive! (It won't even be the longest run I've done). How have we got to the Trumpesque position where the guy who has no experience of EVs and is acting on nothing but ill-informed and prejudiced hearsay, is telling the bloke who actually drives one every day, what his car can or can't do, and expects to be taken seriously?! (And yes, assuming you'll allow the use of a ferry to get to the Northern Ireland bit of it, of course I could bloody drive round the coast of the UK in it. What a bloody stupid question)!

I am neither fat, I have never drunk Special Brew, I have never drunk beer at home, and only the occasional pint, with a meal. Further, I certainly am not sat here in my 'pants', I am sat here in a pair of slacks, and a shirt. As you are aware, I do actually have an EV of sorts, and I make good use of it where appropriate, distance is not one of those.
I am not the one making a fool of himself, you certainly are, trying to convince me that EV's are the solution for everyone, and will save the planet.
The planet will do, what the planet does.

And then? You will be stuck in London, whilst the EV recharges - a fast charge does the battery no favours at all. Very different from a ICE vehicle, where you can 'recharge' it in minutes, and be on your way. Supposing there was an emergency at home, and you needed to urgently go back home - you are stuck.

And are you really trying to claim EV experience as a result of having a mobility scooter?! OK... I've got a ride-on lawn mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine in it, so that must qualify me to run an F1 team...

They do put a phenomenal amount of time and effort trying to sell their beliefs. Suppose they have to do that to distract from being taken in by what the government says they must believe in.

"Much" quicker? Really? Have you any idea how big Australia is? I'd love to see your van do that lap in 9 days...

both him and brigadeer were doing the same with me - it is very difficult and pointless entering into any discussion with the brainwashed. juwst because I think there is some shortfalls with EV's then apparently I am anti EV and given up on climate change or a denier or something and all manner of other stupidly exaggerated nonsense .
As it happens we will more than likely have an EV by the end of the year (or first half next year), and my house is covered in solar panels (more for environmental reasons than profit (there is no worthwhile monetary benefit in solar panels)) - I will also be keeping my old diesel van (if it passes its mot) for environmental reasons.
But hey - just because i am not 100% EV then i must be the anti christ or something
