I think you will find that 'range anxiety' is a term coined since the advent of mainstram EV usage.

There's far less of the 'unexpected' in ICE ownership.

But it proves the point that you are unlikely to set off on a long journey without some planning in advance.

Just like an EV.

The average journey for most people is probably less than 50 miles a day, and I'm sure a big percentage don't do 100 miles a week.

EV's aren't for everybody, but they are getting to be a better choice for more and more people as time goes on. This is coming from a petrol head, 2 x petrol cars and 1 x diesel van. Replacing 1 of the cars in the near future for a new one, and it is very likely to be an EV, because it just adds up, no other reason.

There is a lot of opposition to EV's, understandably, but when you dig into the actual facts, they are beginning to make more sense.

Heard on the radio this morning there is an issue with "carspreading" in that cars are getting wider and taller each year and there are calls to charge these cars more to park. They are getting wider and taller to accommodate the batteries - and now they will soon be finding themselves paying more to park. Also the style of big tall fronts means its more likely that a pedestrian when hit will end up under the car. Hows that for efficiency - probably kills more pedestrians than noxious gas from an ICE.

That's just unfounded rubbish.

Size growth was happening way before EV's. Do you need the facts ?
