Seems like a reasonable candidate though! I wouldnt want a lawnmower that weighed 100kg, but a wacker.. 
Yeah, I was thinking lead-acid batteries could be a winner, would save bolting a lump of iron in to make it heavy enough.
Not sure how well batteries cope with severe vibration though, possibly not very well in the long term.
