I've already looked into the merits of granite/wood/laminate worktops and have decided to go for a laminate. I like one from Magnet but I'm a bit worried about its durability (and cost). Their sample block was battered and chipped although the one in the showroom looked great.

Anyone know how they compare to Bushboard and Formica ones, or have any other recommendations? I particularly want a dark brown wood effect square-edged one, preferably deeper than the standard size. The Magnet one is Wenge square-edge 50mm deep so it ticks all the boxes, although more than double the price. Bushboard have a Chunky range but unfortunately not in my colour.

Thanks

Getalit do a 60mm option on most of their surfaces and square edge. The 60mm laminate is usually special order.

Thanks, they've passed me on to another company as they supply sub- distributors.
