If you're referring to me, I think you're mistaken.
I'm a carpenter myself and respected job & knock with all my heart.
Very knowledgeable guy with plenty of experience.
I don't remember ever having an argument with him, in fact, we exchanged advice even via pm.
I've been retired for a long time and I don't charge customers anymore, I only do work for friends and family and very occasionally I get sucked into jobs for friends of friends at very cheap rates and only for small jobs.
So, it must be another Johnny you're talking about.

Can I be your friend Johnny.

He retired, tried posting on uk workshopforum but didn't seem to fit their style, and presumably moved on to other things like having a life. He was always willing to give of his time and experience without judging others lack of experience, or even occasional stupidity. Herts drainage reference to Johnny is a reference to their mutual frustration with Keitai’s posts.

The other possibility is that J&K shuffled off his mortal coil. Definitely not GitM.

Aye its a sad fact that some (all) of us will shuffle off and stop posting at some point be that through natural causes or otherwise, our legacy lives on on the forum though. Unless you delete your account beforehand.
