I'm soon having my kitchen redone and am looking for an induction hob. I have sourced a Neff hob with 2 years waranty or Samsung with 5 years both the same price and similar specs. I like the idea of the 5yr warranty but wonder if the Neff would be a better buy. Do you think induction hobs are any better or worse than a ceramic hob? Any opinions please?

I would not touch one with a bargepole! If you have gas, a gas hob is still the quickest. Apart from only working with the correct type of pans, induction hobs are packed full of very expensive electronic boards which might not be available "off the shelf" if they go wrong. If you do buy an induction hob, I suggest you get an extended warranty and check whether the engineers that come to your home will be people employed directly by the appliance manufacturer. That way you stand the best chance of them having the parts available without long delays.
