HI, i am replacing my bathroom light, lighting circuit is fine (i.e. earthed) but i have been told that i can not install a standard light (pendant) in there, is that right?

i have done some research on the internet and as far as i can tell if the light circuit has no earth you need to use class II fitting but if the light circuit is earthed you can use any light fitting you want, is that right?

thanks in advance

In a bathroom there are certain 'zones' - they are numbered 0 - 3. You can fit a standard batten holder in zone 3 but personally I never would. Go for an IP rated enclosed fitting.
