I'd be interested in one which has a rechargable, and preferably easily-replacable, battery. Mine is a Danfoss and if the power goes off, to house or boiler, or the PL to the stat, it loses its memory very quickly, which is very tiresome. The instructions have no mention of the battery, but sooner or later I will have it off the wall and tinker with it.

Honeywell hold the program in non volatile memory and both the wired and hard wired use AA batteries to maintain time keeping during a power failure. these batteries last between one and three years.

When power is restored it just carries on as before subject to the boiler not having an eppy.

They are supposed to tell you when the batteries are fading.

The Danfoss TP5 (IIRC) is pants, and no amount of PTFE will change that ;).
