Hi

I have a Whirlpool 6th Sense - It showed an error saying the filter needed cleaned.

So I followed a YouTube video to drain the water from the filter (took ages!) and i then assumed i could just turn the filter pull it out... clean it... put it back and everything would be ok...

However, after draining the water I have not been able to remove the filter...

The guidance on it is below... but it just won't budge... ive manually tried to pull it and ive used a gripper tool.

The house is about 7-8 yrs old, and i doubt that in that time the filter has ever been cleaned... so im unsure if maybe that is a factor.

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!

It UNSCREWS anti-clockwise (or at least a 1/4 turn) before it can be pulled out.

Crud and limescale can / will make things stick and/or jam up.
So twist back and forth opening / closing the filter to attempt to free it up more. Wiggle up down as much as possible, too. Gentle percussive taps round the edge while pulling?

Worst case may mean a strip down of the drain hoses / filter housing when machine pulled out to access from the 'other end'?

Thanks both - ive just given it another go and it has worked.
As youve said it just needed a little bit more twisting to free it up.
