Hope someone can help, we have just bought an ex demonstration whirlpool 6th sense model ADP 7406 on ebay for what I thought was a bargain price of £32. Unfortunately, when we had a trial run we found that it stops mid cycle and does not drain unless we manually empty it by holding the outlet hose a couple of inches from the ground over a bowl, when we do this it empties completely. It is also flashing fault code F4, does anyone know what this means and have any advice? We have looked in the manul but have found no useful advice.

Being 7 months pregnant I would really like to get the dishwasher going asap and as cheaply as possible and I'm very worried about how much the repair could end up costing. HELP!

F4 is a no drain fault code.
You've either got a blockage in the outlet hose (is it into a stand pipe or a spigot under the sink? if a spigot, did you take the blanking piece out?), blockage in the drain pump, faulty drain pump or faulty pcb.

Thanks for the speedy reply sleepyhead, we actually just put the outlet pipe over the sink for the trial run as we didn't want to go to the trouble and expense of plumbing it in if there was a problem with it (being from ebay). I presume this would suggest a problem with the drain pump, we have tried to locate the drain pump to see if there is an obvious blockage but it seems to be behind other stuff which would need removing and didn't want to do any more harm. Then again the machine drains when the pipe is held very low but the pump isn't making any noises at all, it's a bit confusing. Do you suggest getting someone in to look at it or is it quite a simple job to locate the problem ourselves?

Thanks again, Sue

I've had a similar problem with ADP 7406 dishwasher, it turned out to be a broken wire behind the door panel which was a little tight in it's plastic shielding, check this before buying a new pump. Hope this is usefully.
