WHY DO I HAVE TO PUT CH & HW ON, ON MY TIMER FOR HOT WAT

Hi,

I hope you can help.

I have a open system, and everytime i want hot water, i have to put central heating and hot water switches on to get hot water.

is the wiring at the port valve wrong?

You have a cylinder thermostat?

Switch on HW only at the programmer and turn up the cylinder stat setting to max. Does the boiler fire?

What type of motorised valve/valves do you have?

i have a 2 port valve, no thermostat contected to the cylinder tank. i will find out the rest of the detaisl needed.
