HELP !

40 year old + Wilson Oilheat boiler , so far :

Burnt hole opposite electrode (now covered with copper plate)
cleaned blocked pipe in motor rotor

Problem, it will fire up from 'igniter' but will not continue burning independently, switches on/off constantly but ceases burning after spark-up !

Where is the light sensor ?
Engineer coming Monday,will pass on comments and update, cheers

check out the the light sensor, best to replace boiler must cost you a fortune to run it

The 'light sensor' is a thermostat in the flue. Check if it changes over if it gets warm, if not take it out, clean it up and operate it manually a few times. Are you sure you are getting a consitent flow of fuel if it keeps going on/off?
