Window leasing refresh

Hi all, I have just moved house and the windows have leading on the outside which looks to have rusted (photo attached)
Just wondering if anyone had any tips of how to refresh the leading.
Have tried the obvious cleaning/ scrubbing

Scotch pad

A Scotchbrite pad will clean that and having it look good.
It may be a good idea to cover the glass in masking tape around it, you don't want to be scratching it.

 

[Old Salt]

Cant be much lead in it if its gone rusty!
