I have nice Scottish Sandstone windowsills in our Vic era property, however, one in particular has developed a problem. There is a 6" hole in the flat top surface - the hole is about 5-10mm deep. The top of the sill sounds pretty much boast and I assume that the top layer of the brick is coming away from the layers below. I do not want to remove this cill but was wondering how to put in a longish term fix.
Is there a filler out there that will fill and seal this hole to prevent more damp getting into the stone?
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers
