Just bought a 5 ring induction hobb and it comes with two cables (both with L/N/E) and its rated as 10.8kW. The guidance seems to show that one cable requires a 16amp fuse and the other 32Amp fuse. They are 4mm cables. My old hobb is connected via a 32amp junction box and then a 32amp RCD - I think this cabling is 6mm.

Can I wire both cables of the new hobb into this junction box or do I need to do something, if so what should I do. I have consulted an electrian and he says he has never seen anything like it and he is stumped too. Your advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Some of the larger induction hobs need two supplies.
Your electrician will need to run a new circuit to the fuseboard (2.5mm) with a 16amp CPD.
You then use the existing supply (32A) and the new one (16A) to power your monster up.

Both circuits need separate isolation switches per regs.
