hI - I bought a bathroom fan and it requires 3 wires to connect to it N, L and LS.

I am replacing a previous fan which had different wire colours.

The colours of wire on the cable in the wall are Blue, Red and Yellow.

The fan is marked with N, L and Ls, but not sure which colours to connect to which point.

Can you please help.

If you can tell us which of Blue Red and Yellow are permanent live, neutral and switched live then we can help.

Have you got a multimeter?

Did you make a note of which wire went to which terminal on the old fan?

Have you traced the wiring from the light switch and/or ceiling rose?

RobinG, there is no standard colour code, we can like you, only guess

I guess red is live, blue is neutral and yellow is swicthed live
