I need to replace our existing bathroom fan.

The present one works when the light is switched on and goes off when the light is switched off but it has a timer so it runs on for a while after the light goes off. The new one does not have a timer.

It had three wires going into it. The fan terminals were marked L N and LS. I have noted which wires were which. L and LS were both coloured red.

The new fan has only space for two wires and the instructions say that you should connect live and neutral. It also says that it can work off the light switch.

How do I connect the new fan so that it comes on and off with the light switch?

Many thanks, John.
