If I am rewiring lights on a loop in system and one room has two lights operated from by one switch, how would that work?

the second light is wired across the first. if you are using a ceiling rose the two outer wires should be for the light, you connect the 2nd light across these two

About to add the extra light this evening and just wanted to make sure. Do you mean like this?

Would I just use flex between the two lights or would I need to use the 1.5 cable? Do I need to run an earth between the two?

1mm or 1.5 and yes you must have an earth (which will be in the twin and earth cable)
