having spent a couple of hours everynight for last 4 days , i have got the drum out , it outer plastic water jacket split in halves , and have found the bearing carrier to be shorn into two halves just the remains of a ball race , and a few bolls.!! so i saw in an answer to a similar problem that the solution would be to get a new drum and spider with spindle attached . in my case i would in addition need the back half of the outer plastic water jacket . Does anyone have any suggestions where these could be sourced .I would hate to have wasted all that effort and have to buy new !!

eBay got rear drums 50 quid Inc bearings but you also nerd a new heater and drum surport. Part numberfor drum is 1605082 ,drum surport 1604290

thanks a million rocks . is the drum support the metal carrier that has the ballrace in it , throu which the shaft of the drum passes and the bearings are housed ? longsuffering

There is no ball race on the carrier is a 3 legged metal spider that bolts onto the inner drum and goes into the drum half that has bearings in it.

been busy last while .got new machine . still wanting to fix aquarius .have to admit would go to gallows believing there was a ball race in bearing carrier for wont of a better description . ignore my last . have just gone to have anotherlook its plastic , this phantom carrier i am now assuming one of bearings is of ball type ...backto origional prob.. the metal thingy that the outer / innir bearings " bear on " in this knacked machine is split in two halves , badly erode alloy affair , so that was why i was wanting to know if the rear half of plastic drum waterjackt which has this alloy carrieer " key way'ed in ( lug oppisit heater element ) can be gotton . i know i would still also need ..drum with spindli ,.&. bearing kit but still , if about £ 100 for lot i would still rather do than dump the whole f'n lot..any thoughts ??
