So getting round to replacing a blown panel in my wooden casement windows, the frames date to around 1990.
Checking I’m doing it all properly, but notice a lot of threads mentioning draining slots for water on the bottom of the frame.
My windows appear to simply have a wooden bead butted up to the bottom of the frame.
Is there something I’m missing or a way to introduce a draining slot?

This shows what’s needed , a bit clumsy in execution but gives you an idea of what’s need .
Extra long drill bit makes it easier .

The video shows an aluminium/plastic window whose sections are hollow, timber windows are a totally different kettle of fish in terms of drainage slots and channels
