worcester 230 no hw

Hi having trouble with dhw from worcester 230 combi 5-8years old. Central heating working ok. When I turn tap on water is hot for about 6-8 secs then goes cold. boiler doesn't appear to light. The demand light is off at all times even when heating on.Diverter v/v lies fore and aft so you can see the plunger moving in and out. Any ideas??
Housebound so ch is on nearly 24/7 I have rang a plumber as ch & hw is vital to me, waiting for him to ring back.

domestic diarhgram.easy to change on that model,part around 30 quid 1 hrs to fit if everything goes ok
