My Worcester 24i overheats everytime we run hot water, even if hot tap is opened for just a couple of seconds.

Run hot water - turn off - loud bangs - crackling / bubbling noise in pipes - reset switch pops up.

When this happens I generally run hot tap to release all remaining hot ( very ) water until runs cold - then press back down cut-off button - this will cause boiler then to ignite but as the boiler is now cold the noises come from the pipes and the boiler remains OK ( switch does not pop up ) and everything then settles down.

Central heating remains OK - no drop in pressure ( although needle jumps around during the loud banging ).

What's wrong and how much - thanks, anyone ?

It might be scaled up but first measure the resistance of the temperature sensors with the boiler cold.

Thankyou for the quick reply but I generally ' get a man in ', how do I measure the resistance and what can I do if it is scaled-up ?
