As i say the only thing we could identify was the switch on the board for ignition. The switch has two connections on the circuitry one from the hot water and one straight from the CH dial switch. As the hot water is fine there must either be a fault at the dial switch for the CH or some kind of interruption on the circuitry.
The guy on Ebay has been great and had swapped out the board no quibble and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
