Came home to a cold house yesterday only to find that the central heating wasn't on. Anyway to cut a story short, our boiler will give us hot water but the central heating will not come on. When we set the heating to come on, the light on the dial comes on and you can hear the flame come on for about 5-10seconds and then it goes off and will not heat the radiators.

Any idea's at what it could be or a price i could be looking at to have it repaired?, i've been told it could be the pump or the diverter valve inside but since i don't really have a clue about it i thought here would be better.

Thanks in advance,
Jamie

It could well be the diverter valve.

As to cost, we charge an £84 diagnostic fee in our local area plus parts most of which are about £50-£150 each. Others charge what they want to!

But you do need a competent diagnostic engineer and not just a parts changer!!!
