Good evening folks,

I'm after some guidance if anyone can help me please?

My Worcester Bosch 280RSF combi boiler has developed a fault, if you run the hot water for any length of time after a period of about 2-3 mins the boiler trips out and the burner extinguishes, the water then cools and the burner re-fires and hot water returns.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what may be causing this and if it is possible to repair?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks Dan.

I know where the heat exchanger is in the boiler is it something that is worth taking off and cleaning out or is it better to replace?

Probably worth trying to clean.

It is the water water exchanger in the bottom of the boiler - not the one in the combustion chamber.

Consider cleaning the whole system too.

Ready for a new boiler when the time comes.

I know the one you mean, I'll have a look and get it out and give it a good clean out.

Sorry for all the questions but is it worth putting a cleaning product in the CH system and running for a while, draining down and then refilling?

Or should I just remove and give a it a clean out that way?

Excellent, many thanks for you help.

You are right, time for a new boiler but that can wait until the kitchen gets blitzed...

Will try to keep it going for the short term, crosses fingers!
