Hi, was wondering if anyone could help, I started getting poor heating a week ago and had to turn my thermostat on combi boiler from 2.5 to 5 (full) to get adecent heat out of radiators, then 2 days ago my hot water stopped running hot after about 60 seconds when the pilot light went out and wouldn't click back on till I switched off the water. I now have no hot water as pilot light will not come on and my heating will only work when it is up full. Anybody any ideas?

Did you say that you still get heating if stat tured right up?, if so not your pump thats faulty. Sounds like a sensor probem to me. Best to get a qualified engineer out to check it.

had engineer out reckoned at first it was temperature sensor at first then because it was both heating and water it might be aluminium heating module.

Aluminium heat module?, i take it you mean the heat exchanger?, not likely if you're getting heat with the stat turned up. Did the engineer check the resistance readings on the sensors?. It definately sounds like a sensor/potentiometer fault to me.

He couldn't ake heating module out to flush it as its old and might break after draining the sytem then putting the water back in the heating and water worked for the first half hour. Then it went back to no pilot light coming on when trying to get hot water and heating only working when on at max.

Yeah did mean heat exchanger, could it be the thermostat with it being an intermitent problem just asking as the engineer is coming back out tomorrow.
